In 2011, a group of friends created the Duttine-Cavataio Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit, in response to the untimely death of two young Brentwood Alumni Julie Andrulonis-Duttine & Tom Cavataio.
They held the first ever Drop the Puck on Cancer benefit hockey tournament in Brentwood Park. The proceeds went directly to the families devastated by the death of their loved ones.
Since then we have used this event to help countless other families within the community. Visit our Past Recipients page to read more and come show your support at our annual event.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing and hardworking individuals who contribute to making the 'Drop the Puck on Cancer' event a success each year. Your dedication to this cause and tireless efforts behind the scenes ensure that the event runs smoothly and effectively. Together, we are committed to making a difference and supporting those affected by cancer. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and passion.

Drop the Puck on Cancer is more than just a dek hockey tournament; it's a day-long gathering at Brentwood Park, designed to unite people for a common cause: raising funds to help those affected by cancer in our community. Every dollar raised during the event goes directly to recipients chosen for that year, all of whom are members of the Brentwood community and facing the challenges of cancer. Drop the Puck is our way of rallying the community together to provide support, hope, and encouragment to those in need.
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy exciting hockey matches while indulging in various food vendors, an extensive array of raffle baskets and a thrilling 50/50 draw, offering supporters the chance to win fantastic prizes. We pride ourselves on providing a family-friendly atmosphere with activities.
