Jamie, is a determined mother of two who faced adversity with resolute determination. Despite receiving devastating news, Jamie refused to surrender and embarked on a courageous fight against cancer. However, amidst her battle, tragedy struck as she lost her beloved husband. The loss shattered her family, leaving them devastated and broken. Despite the immense grief, Jamie pressed on, undergoing surgery and healing, only to face 16 more rounds of radiation. As a letter carrier, Jamie's job is physically demanding, and she's missed significant time at work due to her health struggles. Despite the challenges, Jamie remains grateful for the opportunity to participate in Drop the Puck on Cancer. It's a beacon of hope amidst the darkness, reminding her that she's not alone in her fight.

Ellen, a devoted mother of three and soon-to-be grandmother of two, whose world revolves around family. Whether tending to her parents, children, nieces, nephews, siblings, or nurturing her garden, Ellen finds joy in the company of her loved ones. However, in 2020, her life took a challenging turn when she was diagnosed with cancer. Amidst the solitude of hospital trips during the COVID era, Ellen faced battles alone, navigating through unsuccessful procedures, scans, appointments, and medications. Despite the setbacks, her remission was short-lived, and now, ongoing treatment looms indefinitely. This unexpected journey has cast a shadow over the retirement dreams she shared with her husband, leaving them grappling with mounting bills. Yet, amidst it all, Ellen finds solace and happiness in the simple moments spent with her family. 

Ashleigh, a 2003 graduate of Brentwood High School, was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a disease she defied odds to thrive with. She surpassed predictions and pursued various activities in school, from flags to cheerleading, dance, and softball. Despite facing its challenges and CF-related diabetes, she pursued a career in medical assistance, finding fulfillment in caring for others. In 2021, Ashleigh married Anthony, and they raise 3 wonderful children together. However, her world turned dark when diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Despite the uphill battle, Ashleigh continues her fight with unwavering strength and courage.

Jeff, a proud graduate of Brentwood and former football team member who faced a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Jeff is not just a father, but a beloved pappy to his daughter, two step-daughters, and five adoring grandchildren. His passion for collecting trains runs deep, a hobby he shares with all of his children, creating cherished memories together. Jeff's commitment extends beyond his family; he works diligently for a small family business, where major disability benefits aren't provided. As he prepares for the challenges ahead, Jeff's wife, Debbie, stands by his side, ready to offer unwavering support and aid during his treatments.

John is a former Brentwood student whose life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer in 2023. Despite enduring unsuccessful chemo treatments and multiple surgeries, John's spirit remains unbroken. He's now looking to relocate back to Brentwood to be surrounded by his family and loved ones during this challenging time. John draws strength from his unwavering faith and finds solace in his church community, crediting them for his fortitude. A devoted fan of all things Pittsburgh, John's passion for his city runs deep.

Mark, a proud Brentwood alum, happily married with two kids, whose life was recently challenged by a cancer diagnosis. Mark's journey has been tough, requiring immediate surgery that has left him unable to return to work. Facing the possibility of radiation treatments, his recovery is further prolonged, confining him to his home. This limitation has stripped away his ability to enjoy his beloved hobbies, from socializing with friends and family to going on vacations and fixing up vehicles. Despite these obstacles, Mark remains resilient, drawing strength from his loving family. 

Vicki, a proud Brentwood alum who has been part of the school community since kindergarten. Despite her deep connection to her alma mater, Vicki's life has been touched by the harsh reality of cancer. Enduring rounds of chemotherapy and countless tests, Vicki faces her diagnosis with unwavering strength and courage. Her artistic spirit shines brightly through her love for drawing and knitting, as well as her musical talents on both the bass and guitar. However, the financial burden of her medical expenses weighs heavily on her, as her insurance coverage falls short. Grateful for the support provided by Drop the Puck, Vicki finds solace in knowing that she's not alone in her battle.

Bonnie, known for her unwavering support, is always there for anyone who needs her. A former resident of Brentwood, she finds joy in spending time with her family, friends, and beloved grandchildren, including one great grandson. Cooking and experimenting with new recipes, watching movies, and listening to live music are some of her favorite pastimes. Despite facing endometrial cancer, skin cancer, and invasive ductal carcinoma, Bonnie remains resilient. Her recovery journey has been challenging, both mentally and physically, but she continues to stand strong for her loved ones. 

A proud 1995 Brentwood graduate, Jim has always been deeply involved in his community's athletics. A devoted family man, Jim's love extends to his wife, son, parents, and siblings. Unfortunately, cancer has woven its tragic threads throughout his life. The loss of his sister Julie to a rare form of cancer was a devastating blow. Yet, Jim's commitment to his family shone brightly when he selflessly relocated back to Pittsburgh years ago to aid his 2 1/2-year-old nephew during his own cancer battle.

Now, facing his own rare cancer diagnosis, Jim is seeking support to cover medical bills and living expenses. Despite the immense challenges, Jim's spirit remains unwaveringly hopeful and upbeat. He continues to embody the qualities of a wonderful husband, father, and son, inspiring those around him with his strength.
